Things have been really busy, 2 ds high schoolers start school next week, the 3rd ds starts middle school the week after. I still need to finish up school supplies, although I find the high-schoolers are much easier to buy for (and inexpensive). Youngest ds starts football practice next week, oldest ds starts two-a-days the week after. It's hard to believe fall is almost here.
Tonight the family meets at the highschool for a booster club barbeque. I look forward to seeing all the parents we've missed over the summer. The middle ds starts his first year of high school, he really is growing up. When the oldest ds started high school 2 years ago I cried for 2 days! It's hard to believe they're growing up. I'm so thankful they have a good youth group to be a part of, this has proven especially helpful to the middle ds. They bring the 8th grade graduates in the group the summer before 9th grade, this helps them meet and socialize with other high-schoolers before they enter the 9th grade. This has been really good for middle ds, as I know he is a little apprehensive about this next step.
I've been thinking about mom a lot lately, she was called home June 7 this year. It's been a tough year, mom battled cancer and while her suffering was minimal, it was still difficult. My comfort is found in Jesus, knowing mom is now in the loving arms of our creator. Thanks be to God.
I've been searching the internet with help to personalize my blog. This is harder than I thought, I have so much I want to do with this blog. I'm trying to limit time to 15-20 mins a day. That's not easy either! Hopefully this weekend I can add a side bar and start posting my recipes and menu planning - not to mention our family scheduling...it's going slower than I hoped!
